Migration in the OAS

International population movements are, simultaneously, consequences of global change and important drivers of subsequent changes, both in the societies that originate them and those that receive them. In the Americas, the magnitude and characteristics of the migratory phenomenon have profound social and economic impacts, whether in the countries of origin of migrants, as well as in those of transit and in those of destination. As a consequence, attention and treatment of migration issues are carried out through the different organs and entities that make up the OAS, which highlights the complexity and cross-cutting nature of issues related to migration.
